About Place Journal, a literary magazine published by the Black Earth Institute, just published my poem, “In the Temple of I-Want-to-Die-Cozy.”
My mother died, according to the hospice corporation, with dignity. In this poem I imagine a priceless and costless way to die where we don’t have to pay anyone to tell us we have dignity. I know it’s not for everyone, but to me, to be food for scavengers would be redemption.
