Missing in action

“Missing in action” is a hybrid creative nonfiction/poem about douc langurs, primates of Southeast Asia, and how they survived extinction, so far, by hiding in the jungle like, um, guerrillas.

The poem was just published in Miracle Monocle: https://louisville.edu/miraclemonocle/issue-12/karina-lutz Narrow your computer screen for best formatting, or read on a reader or tablet.

The online photo referred to in the poem is no longer live. One like it can be found here: http://douclangur.org/what-we-do/.

I saw the douc langurs in hospice in about 1998 at the San Diego Zoo: https://www.sandiegozooglobal.org/timeline/1968/new-species-douc-langurs/.
