We’re waiting on a couple artists’ final files but the book is otherwise ready for final proofing. I have loved working with Lis McLoughlin of NatureCulture, who really refined and worked with me to put this book together—a collection that has been in process for more than a decade. I hope you’ll read it, buy it, review it, give it to friends. I hope it helps restore/create democracy, peace, and ecological healing. A little ambitious? Yeah.
This poetry collection addresses the tangled issues of war, colonization, genocide, and the war on earth itself, relating them to the arbitrary notion of land “ownership.” Written over decades of struggle to understand how to cure the United States of its lethal militarism, the poems laud the peace movement’s responses. Without denying war’s horror, the poems honor the concurrence of Earth’s peace and beauty with the outrage of war. A bow to the peacemakers I have known, sat with and walked alongside, the final epic poem, ekphrastic of the Tibetan peace mandala, envisions a peace pilgrimage that may one day encircle earth.
